Ok I'm sick as a dog and on every medication possible and I still feel like hell. My husband (a saint) has been so sweet in taking care of me but I still FEEL LIKE HELL. I mean my sinuses are so swollen I'm involuntarily crying, my throat is raw, and I feel like a zombie. So, being sick in bed of course I'm on Pintrest. And what do I happen to come across???
MAGGIE’S COUGH REMEDY
¼ t. Cayenne
¼ t. Ginger
1 T. Cider Vinegar (an organic one, like Bragg’s, is preferred.)
2 T. Water
1 T. Honey (use a locally produced raw honey, if possible.)
Dissolve cayenne and ginger in cider vinegar and water. Add honey and shake well. Take 1 T. as needed for cough.

Originally I was like, FUCK YEA!!! And pulled out all the ingredients so fast my husband looked up from his video gaming.
Swiftly whipping this together I had my 'home remedy' sitting in front of me seconds later waiting to be tried. Now I don't know if it was the dayquil, nasal spray, pain pills, sudafede, or my lack of sleep but it slowly dawned on me what I was about the shove down my throat. I mean this has to be someone's idea of of a bad bad joke:
Cayenne
Ginger
vinegar
.....yea.... I must be of of my fucking mind to think this is a good idea....
Revising my plan I decided to take my 'home remedy' into the bathroom with a large glass of water. I mean I had no idea if this would even stay down. Mentally preparing myself the same way I do when I prepare to take a shot of something I really don't want, I readied my spoon. I shoved it to the back of my mouth downed the mixture.
The Result?
Well I didn't throw it up (much to my surprise) and it wasn't as awful as I had anticipated (WAY more surprising). But my throat? Well my mouth and throat burned for a couple minutes afterward, which was totally expected but not deathly. Mind you since my nose is burned out from the nasal spray and I've been on throat drops I can't taste much anyways. But overall my throat does feel better, which honestly is kinda shocking. Am I healed and rejuvenated? No, and I feel heart burn kicking in, but I'll take heart burn over my painful throat. Bad news is the upper part of my throat, not touched by the stuff still hurts. So long story short...
Does it work?
Yes, it does help sooth your throat
Down side?
Burns, not amazingly effective, and gives you heart burn
